Every year CUEE invites a guest collaborator to work with the ensemble. In February I had an enjoyable session with the group where we explored collective group composition and improvisation. It was fun to come and share some elements of my practice, which the ensemble has continued to work with for the rest of the term. The idea is to integrate them into their already rich palette of soundscapes, improvisation, conduction and graphic scores. The ensemble (led by Cath Roberts) will perform alongside the Field Recording Ensemble for an evening of exploratory sound-making and collective improvisation. I’m looking forward to playing with CUEE and seeing how they have developed some of the ideas we were working with!
Admission is free, but as space is limited please register to attend! The performance will be at City University. Timings are 19-20.30. Register for the event on the City University website.
